PHPBB 2.08
Attachment Mod
subSilver and 3 other templates installed.
===========================

I follow the instructions and it seems that the mod is installed but I don't see anything in the forum. Am I suppose to see like a link where tells you all the templates installed and when you click in, it goes to that template?

http://aomiron.host.sk/foros-empiresesp/index.php

I don't see anything. I read that you don't have to upload the files in the other templates but.... :o

I see the "eXtreme Styles" in the administration panel. Is just that? In the administration panel where you switch the templates? I wanted my users to do that in the index though.

As you may notice the (spanish) forum is running in a free hosting site.

I see the following errors when in the configuration part.

Code: Select all
Warning: cache cannot be written.

Check if you have created directory where cache is stored and changed access mode (chmod) to 777 so script could write cache there. If your server is running in safe mode you might consider using "." as filename separator so all cache would be written in same directory (see separator setting below).

If cache doesn't work on your server for some reason don't worry - eXtreme Styles mod increases forum speed many times even without cache.

My Cache file is 777. I use WS_FTP Pro.

Debug data for xs_:
Code: Select all
Error: cannot open file "./../cache/subSilver/_xs_test.php". Will try to create directories...
Checking "./../cache/" - directory exists.
Checking "./../cache/subSilver" - directory exists.
Error: cannot open file "./../cache/subSilver/_xs_test.php" for the second time. Giving up...

Debug Data admin
Code: Select all
Error: cannot open file "./../cache/subSilver/admin/_admin_xs_test.php". Will try to create directories...
Checking "./../cache/" - directory exists.
Checking "./../cache/subSilver" - directory exists.
Checking "./../cache/subSilver/admin" - no such directory.
Error: cannot create directory "./../cache/subSilver/admin" - you might need to check permissions.

When you install mod you shouldn't see any difference in forum. This mod doesn't change appearance of forum. It only speeds up forum and adds extra controls in admin control panel.

This mod doesn't add anything to index. If you want users to switch styles in index then get styles demo mod from here.

To fix caching change filename separator in extreme styles mod settings from "/" to "."

Probably you have incorrect configuration. In admin control panel in general configuration check domain name and path. Domain name should be set to www.jerlabs.net and path should be set to /offtopic/forums

Extreme Styles Mod - working in PHP Nuke

Postby JagaTelesin on Sun Apr 18, 2004 1:15 am

Since I couldn't start a separate topic (to keep this one clean), I'll settle for posting here. :)

While I know Extreme Styles wasn't meant to be used with a PHP-Nuke installation, I believe I have managed to get it working with one. My cache directory in the forums root has files in it's subSilver directory, all with .php extensions. That plus the fact I replaced my /includes/template.php file leads me to believe it is up and running just fine.

I am having only one problem - though it is not a show stopper. When I go into the Admin panel and config eXtreme Styles, a click on the Submit button gets me the following 404-File not found error:

http://wow.adeptshaven.com/modules/Forums/admin/admin_xs_config.modules.php?name=Forums&file=php&sid=...........&

Note: the sid was removed to shorten the line above.

I'm very aware you probably don't want to provide support to Nuke users, but if I can get this bug ironed out, I can supply what I've learned to the Nuke community, and let them run with it. Would you possibly take a look at that url and the code, and see what might be happening? If not that's okay - the mod semi-works, except I can't find where to change these variables manually. If I could even do that instead of through the admin panel, it would be something. Thanks in advance! :)

Sorry, I don't support nuke. That mod is not supposed to work with nuke at all, but you managed to get part of it working and congratulations about that, but i can't help you.

I guess I shouldn't have said "thanks in advance". Not a problem, I'm sure people in the Nuke community will want to try to help with the integration issues. It's always been like that with Nuke support sites.

Hi Cyberalien. You wrote that it is enough to only copy the template files into the directory of "subsilver" even is there are other templates installed. Will your mod work for other templates anyway?
I don't use subsilver but another selfmade template. Shouldnt I copy them into the directory my template. Otherwise I wont see anything in my APC, will I?

Yes, you can have only one set of tpl files in subSilver and it will work with all styles.

With eXtreme Styles mod when some template is loaded it checks current template directory for that tpl file, and if tpl file is not found it looks in default directory for that tpl file instead of showing error message. Usually default directory is "subSilver" (you can change it in mod configuration), so one set of tpl files in subSilver is enough.

Sorry, i don't know. I have this mod on one windows server, but on that server permissions already allow writing so i didn't have to change anything.

Postby apes on Thu May 06, 2004 1:16 pm

hi,

I installed xs-mod correctly on my forum, but now I can answer a topic as guest, but not create a new topic. If I do it, I have to login!?

It worked until I installed xs-mod, so how can I solve the problem?

Here is my forum:
http://www.wikimusic.de/tpl/forum/viewforum.php?f=1

and here is a test-administration-account you can use to fix the problem (german version!):

account:aUser2
password:test

thx for help!
