I've recently started using Fireworks myself but wouldn't know where to start using it to create a template! As for your new template... I can't wait.

I realize that this has nothing to do with your project but there's a few people on here who may well be able to help me so I will ask anyway. Does anybody know how to set up and configure an Apache server on Windows? I need to host my own site from my own server so I plan to use Apache to get the job done. Could sure use a few pointers in getting started.

Thanks guys

I use IIS 6 so I don't know anything about Apache, but I would be willing to bet they have an installer that will set everything up for you.

I set up the server correctly however when I come to install phpBB2 it cannot connect to the database???
DB Type: MySQL 4
Host: localhost
Server host name: phpbb
DB Username: root
DB password: "blank"

All other settings by default.

I have set up a database, copied all files to the instructed directories.

Any ideas chaps?

Also, how do I change CHMOD from a local host?

Then you have messed up something in mySQL installation or mySQL can't start because of some problems. If you are using XP then check firewall settings to make sure port 3309 is opened (i don't use xp, so i'm not sure how exactly to do that). Also try to start mySQL manually by running mysqld.exe

This is a nightmare. Right, I do use XP, windows firewall is turned off... I use Norton. Not sure how to check that the port is open. This is the first time I've messed about with all this. And how do I start MySQL manually?

Go to directory where you isntalled mysql (like c:\mysql), then go to subdirectory "bin" and start mysqld.exe from there.

I didn't install MySQL today, just everything the tutorial told me to but I did install it a few weeks back when I tried my hand at Apache. I've gone to the bin directory but there's no mysqld.exe there. There is a mysqld but it's a file not an exe.
I'm going to download it again. Which version should I get? And I'm assuming I want the Windows version
