phpBB 3.0 so sweet but... !!!

Greetings,

i saw the new featured for this new BETA it's great but yet it's beta and i think we dont know when it will be ready to use as a results we can make any styles or MODs so for now i will work with the older version but the problem if i want to switch to the new "system" with the whole load of MODs i got so do you think there is a better way than witting for the new version to be released and wait for it's MODs and styles to be released ?

like you can "convert" or "edit" your forums to the new version without having problems

It's fine to start playing around with it to learn about it but I wouldn't recommend spending too much time making a big MOD because it might not work by the time RC1 comes out.

I think the question is, will it be difficult to convert a highly modified phpBB2 board to phpBB3.
The answer is: It’s highly unlikely it will NOT work.
The only thing that would cause problems is if there are core database changes made to the phpBB2 board.
i.e. renaming database fields, etc.
But most highly modified boards, even CH MODed boards are able to convert to phpBB3 without much difficulty.

Of course, you’ll want to wait until after RC1 release before you upgrade.
