ok i tried it two ways

i put the xs_mod dir in the forum dir. i moved the files from inside the admin, language, and include dirs into their respective dirs on my server, replacing the template.php file in the include dir. this did not work. although the eXtreme Styles CP menu showed up in the ACP, clicking on either item resulted in an Internal Server Error.

i then replaced the entire admin and language dirs with those from the mod, rather than just add the files within them. this didn't seem to make a difference eithere way.

i'm close to giving up on this, but i feel silly, as it's one of the easiest mods and i've already been able to make some harder ones work...

Greetings,

Mods do not get any easier to install than this one.

To install this mod all you do is, and I'm using WS_FTP as the FTP Client.

1. Download the mod

2. unzip it

3. start the FTP Client

4. connect to the remote server

5. in the left window navigate to where you unzipped the archive and view the contents of the root dir so the path for the left window is 'e:\phpBB_Stuff\Mods_Download\Forum\xs_mod.231\root' for example

6. in the right window navigate to the root of your forum, or where you see 'config.php', 'index.php' etc

7. upload the files from the left window to the right by clicking on the '->' arrow

8. Make sure that 'includes/template.php' was uploaded as it can sometimes be missed, you can check this by checking the file size.. if the xs mod version was uploaded the file will be > 60k

9. job done, mod installed

A quick visit to the ACP should give you an 'eXtreme Styles' section on the left ACP menu.

I'd restore the backup you made of the forum before you installed this mod, you did make a backup didn't you? And start again.

Also , there is no support for quick reply in the simple Morpheus style. It displays the whole thing with the smileys everytime even if you don't want to reply , if 'quick reply ' is activated.

Secondly , once a post is made , the forum does not take the user automatically to his post or the index. It stays there only and the user has to click himself the link. How to change this ? I hope you got me...

Hi, i'm new to the forums and stuff.
I just installed the skin "morpheus xstreme steelblue"
and I found out that I had to install this new mod; which I did..

However, this problem came up, which doesn't affect the members,
but it affects me, the admin..

Whenever I go into my administration panel, it's all whack.
The skin isn't even there, it's just plain text with a white background.

Do you know what's happening?
My forum link is: http://www.euphoria.roxr.com/forum

Hope this made sense, thanks.

simple steps on how to install it.

chmod your existing cache folder to 0777.

unzip the mod. you'll see 2 folders: root and contrib. upload the 4 folders WITHIN the root folder to your main forum folder online (but not the root folder itself). you'll have to overwrite only one file.

go to your admin control panel. you'll see a new field there "styles menu". done.

Works, but doesn't show forums ...

Postby MacDevil on Sat Apr 15, 2006 8:05 pm

I'm really sad, because the MorpheusX styles are the best I've ever seen ...
BUT: I don't get it work ... :(

I installed Category Hierarchies Mod onto a vanilla phpBB 2.0.19.
After that I installed the eXtreme Styles Mod and a MorpheusX style.

Nearly everything works fine, but I can't see any categories or forums!
Below the Navigation and Search Box appears the WhoIsOnline Box and that's it.
No errors. All files correctly uploaded.

With the default subSilver theme I can see all the forums and stuff. With Morpheus I can't.
I'm really confused. Have you any idea? Please help me!

MacDevil
