does easymod actually change the files or does it "simulate" the changes so when phpbb goes to pull the file it just adds that? once i opened a file em was supposed to edit and it wasent there just the plain file

Not exactly sure what you're asking.
Once you click process, EasyMOD opens the files, changes them, and then closes them.
It's just like you edited them manually but instead a program is doing it for you.

Easymod first simulates installation, and only actually changes the files once it's certain all the instructions and SQL queries can be carried out.

is there a way to have a program open a folder and take all the files and move them to a different folder?

On where a remote server or your local machine?

And which files? Templates? If templates then you CANNOT copy them from one style to another... as they will probably NOT be the same and doing so would result in the style you overwrote being screwed.

on my machine. not a remote server. the smilie pack i d/l'ed has about 30 different folders like row 1 row 2 and i have to take the smilies out of the folders and put them in one location

is there a max amount of smilies you are allowed to import? i keep pressing import and it says successful but it dosent actually wokr

i got it, i hate notepad it thinks everything should be a txt file. even when i make it something else and put to all files

A good program to get is notepad++ .Everything is color-coded.It makes viewing the scripts a whole lot easier.Its got tabs too.
