How it works wrote:To set subforum you need to create or edit existing forum. In forum properties menu you'll see usual dropdown where you can select category where forum will be located, but unlike standard dropdown it will also contain list of forums and categories. That's where you can set parent forum.
Or in other words:
Visit the ACP and on the left menu find the section titled 'Forum Admin' and within this section click the link for 'Management'.
From here you can create categories and forums within those categories.
To create a subforum you simply create forums like so;
Category Title
- Forum 1
- Forum 2
- Forum 3
- Forum 4
Then to make forum 3 a subforum of forum 2 click the edit link next to forum 3 and in the 'Category' Dropdown you will see a list of Category titles with the forums within those catagories offset with a '-'. From the list select forum 2 this will then set forum 2 as the parent for forum 3 click the update button. Forum 3 will then appear indented in the list, this indicates that it's a subforum.
If you now preview the forum you 'should' see forum 3 listed as a subforum of forum 2, if you've edited the index template correctly.
Repeat this process for the subforums you wish to create.
Note: The forum names used in the above example, are just that examples and the actual category and forum names you have on your forum will obviously be different.
